The word couture is thrown around a lot in fashion circles. The term haute couture is French and means high fashion. This type of couture is shown on runways in major world cities and bought by the rich and famous. There is also ready to wear couture that can be purchased from boutiques all over the world. If you are looking for couture petite sizes, you shouldn't have any problem. One reason is because this type of expensive fashion can be altered to suit your size. You will find that most of the time these designer fashions run on the small side which can definitely benefit petite sizes.

When it comes to particular items, tops are the easiest item for petites to locate because a regular small size will probably fit just fine. Pants and dresses can be a bit more tricky. If you like junior clothing, you won't find junior petite but you will find small sizes and pants that come in short sizes which is like petite. Of course, couture doesn't come in juniors, misses and plus sizes like department store apparel does. You can purchase couture in designer boutiques and even online. On Ebay you will sometimes find secondhand couture offered at a bargain price.

Couture petite sizes can be found from some designers. If you cannot find petite designer fashions you will either have to shop at a department store or alter the apparel as previously mentioned. If you want to enjoy luxurious designer items but can't afford a whole wardrobe or even an outfit consider accessories. Couture sunglasses, handbags and even footwear make great additions to the average department store wardrobe. One thing about these pieces is that they are made to the finest quality standards and should last you a long time.
