Design Fashions
Do you love clothes and shopping? If so, you may want to consider a career as a fashion designer. There are many ways to design fashions for a living. For example, if you are preparing for college you can go to a school that specializes in fashion design or choose fashion design for your major at whatever university you attend. You may also want to minor in business or at least take plenty of business classes. If you are in an area where top designers are like New York or Paris you may be able to intern with a major design house.
From there it could be a long, hard climb from intern to designer. However if you did reach that level you could be as rich and famous as people like Marc Jacobs and Vera Wang. Of course, the high fashion big city lifestyle isn't for everyone. There are other ways to become a fashion designer and they don't even involve a degree. Thanks to the Internet, anyone can sell most anything to a worldwide customer base. If you are artistic and can sew, you can create your own fashion line and sell it on your own website. You might even want to try showing your line to boutiques to see if they will carry it on a commission basis.
Maybe you can't sew but still want to design clothes. Cafe Press is a site where you can have the graphics of your choice emblazoned on T-shirts, hats, baby clothes and even dog shirts. If you are an artist or graphic designer who thinks your work would look great printed on a shirt or other item this is the place to go. There are all kinds of options for creative individuals who love fashion, especially on the Internet.
As you can see, there are a variety of ways you can design fashions for a living. Before making any life-changing decisions about your education or career, consider the issue very carefully. You may even want to meet with a career counselor or business advisor before doing anything drastic. The decision to enter a certain career field or start your own company is a big one that should not be taken lightly. The Internet can also be used to research the fashion career you are considering for yourself.
